Skill Level: Beginner Friendly//No previous yoga experience necessary. Age: 18+
Do you find yourself: Feeling anxious, tense or on edge? Clenching your jaw? Holding your breath? Experiencing a racing heart or buzzing body? Having trouble concentrating? Feeling disconnected from yourself?
The (Re)Connect Series is a body-based, trauma-informed program designed to help you establish your body as a safe place you can (re)connect with. It's rooted in the four principles of trauma-informed yoga: present moment awareness, choice, taking action and rhythm.
Each of the three sessions includes a mix of educational lecture, meditation (guided and art-based), yoga and other practical tools for navigating mental health, anxiety or trauma. Practices are simple and adaptable, giving participants the opportunity to build a sense of safety within their bodies and begin to (re)connect with themselves in a way that feels empowering and sustainable.
Additionally, there will be an optional digital component. (Re)Connect participants will have access to bonus micro-practices and guided mediations through the Marco Polo app.
